Puck Rice Mini Rice Cooker
Fantastic. I don't know how I was living without this guy. Actually I do know -- I wasn't eating rice. I just made my first cup of rice (outstanding by the way) and I almost want to make another one just as an excuse to use it again. But I'm actually full so I won't.The coolest bonus is the mini-rice scooper. It resembles an elongated spoon which could be used as a utensil to eat directly out of the pot if the user was so inclined. I would never do that though, nope. That is too barbaric for me. But doing so would minimize the number of dishes to wash afterwards if this is a big concern.
As a matter of fact, the rice pot is so small that clean-up is a cinch.
Now, I noticed from other reviews that people wanted a carrying-handle. I can see how this would be useful from a utilitarian standpoint but from a minimalistic perspective it would just add bulk to the product. Plus, I don't think Takeru-kun would be as cute with a handle as it would take away from his perfectly round head.
The product comes with a carrying bag so I figure it's a good compromise. Maybe people wanted a carrying handle on the cooker itself so they could carry it around in public and show it off. Yeah, come to think of it, the carrying bag should have been see-through.
My only regret is that I should have bought two more of these dudes.
With Takeru-kun the possibilities for your two-course meals extend as far as the instant food isle. Takeru with instant miso soup, Takeru and instant ramen, Takeru with instant curry... to name a few! Just add Takeru-kun!
